I got this official Nintendo insert but have no idea what it is from or belongs to. I did some research as well as an image search but I am getting no where. Does anyone have any idea what this is from?

It's from a Retail Interactive Multi-Game Demo Disc. In other words, a GCN-era store display machine. This came with the software discs that had the new demos.

Thanks! That is very helpful. Out of curiosity do you know what NPP stands for?

I do not, but knowing Nintendo it's likely something like "Nintendo Power Purchase" or something lol. Here is a bit more detail on the disc that came from:
Demo and video sampler disc, designed for retail store use. Designed for retailers with predominantly young audiences, such as Toys R Us, and mixed audiences, such as Best Buy.
Disc 14 features the same contents as Version 15, minus previews of M-rated games. The sampler includes a simple menu and three playable single-player demos of Custom Robo, Mario Kart: Double Dash!! and Sonic Heroes (with time reset). In addition to the playables, the disc also features pre-release movie trailers of the following games: Pokemon Colosseum, Metroid Zero Mission, Final Fantasy: Cyrstal Chronicles, Custom Robo, NFL Street, Need For Speed: Underground, The Sims Bustin' Out, I-Ninja, and Mega Man Anniversary Edition.
The disc is marked "For Display Only - Not for Resale" and comes in a standard black DVD case with a generic GameCube cover.

Awesome, really appreciate the additional information. It’s really cool to find out the history about something especially when it is Nintendo related.
So did the disc stay in the demo system or was this just the software (i.e. game demos, clips, etc.) that had to be loaded to the demo system? Another words v14 overwrote v13, and so on?

It basically operates like any other GameCube. Put the disc in, turn the machine on. There really weren't too many other steps. These discs worked like any other game disc, and would almost always work on your home GCN if you could get one (like when your mom works at a video rental store.) The novelty of playing the store demos at home wears off quickly though.

Any idea why the insert is referencing a cartridge and flipping switches on the circuit board? I would have thought if this was in reference to a GCN demo disc, then the insert would be very simplistic and not have that verbiage.

Oh this is one of the N64-era ones, sorry. Same concept, replace GCN with N64. The only things that changed much throughout those years was the physically format.

The other person is wrong. This is Nintendo Power Previews. It was a SNES-era demo unit thing that used Laserdisc and later Video CDs for showing game previews alongside the game kiosk itself.

Thanks that definitely makes sense.

Thank you! Very informative. I’ll need to see if I can find anything about what was on v14 as I am curious.
