Sounds good to me. It's not a silver bullet, but there's no such thing. Just trade-offs.

I think all the Elon Musk fans are already giving him their money via Twitter Blue, so this will have exactly zero uptake. It will probably kill off Twitter for good though, so that's a win.

Twitter will collapse up Elon's fundaments if he keeps to this course. Many people I engage with on that platform are saying they'll walk. Me too.

X is already behind a paywall, I would never pay to see what content is on X.

(I do not meant this as an attack, just like I will never pay for NYT or other paywalls..

Imagine if HN had a paywall (thy only have a ban wall @Dang _@-@_

I dont mean that I do not want to support businesses, its that there are businesses who need to eval their payment levels for content...

An example could be:

Here is the story FREE

Here is the story with all our sources and some access to the actual content PAID

But never forget this crazy skit where were were told we were illegal if we read the same transcripts of journalists.

He won't do it. That's would be economic harakiri.

The problem is, it's the mass of users that matters. Less users, less ad views, less ad contracts.

Less users, less attraction for the one's using it (engagement) and less conversion with the new one's.

But less users means less costs. Problem here is you can't scale down when you reached a certain size. You just need it. Switching of systems would mean making the service worsen.

I think he will allow viewing bots. But writing will costs somewhat. With the Twitter blue, everything is set up for allowing just blue accounts to post things. So it's not about bots out!!! It's about pay as you go. A few doesn't do harm nor cost so much in processing powers
